I , too, was just told by my Saab dealer my 1999 9.5 wagon needed new front brake pads and rotors. I just replaced the front brake pads a year ago at 17K miles at my dealer's recommendation. For the replacement pads to wear out at 19K this time, it sounds like there was something wrong with the original rotors. After speaking with my brother, who has a 1995 9000, he has 95K with original rotors and replaces brake pads at around 30-40K. He recommended I call Saab USA (800 number) to let them know this low mileage and wear and tear on the rotors is unacceptable for a car still under warranty for all else. I am doing that today and will let you know the outcome. I see someone else got them to "waive" the repair costs. (I'm quoted over $500 for the repair). Funny though, I just had my NY state inspection done at a gas station a week ago and they didn't mention I had brake wear....mmmmm. By the way, I don't ride my brakes and have a mix of highway and town driving.
