at least, I think so.

You've gotten some good input. I especially liked Scotty's comments. I bought my '99 9-5 a couple of months ago, having come very close to a new Linear, but wanting a new Aero. I put waaay too many miles on cars every year to lease, and the wife thought an $800/month payment was too much. So, I wound up taking advantage of the terrific bargains to be had on like new used vehicles.

So far, I've put 5,000 miles on it. Have had no problems. And it's a joy to drive.

For the first few weeks I remember being pleasantly surprised by the various driver conveniences Saab provides. Stuff like the flashing sidemarkers, directional lighting when turning, heated exterior mirrors, cabin comfort, cooled glove box (gimmick? Naw), tilt and telescoping steering wheel, heated seats, antenna in the backlight, integrated telephone wiring, dual visor mirrors, side and front visors, headlamp washers, integrated alarm system, sport and winter mode calibrations, etc...

The list could go on much farther.

Personally, I think of Saab as the intelligent choice. Saabs aren't the status symbols that M-B, BMW, and Audi have come to be. They just offer comparable, often superior performance and value for a lot less money. If status is what it's about for you -get the beemer -their fine cars. Can't speak for the Audi or VW because I've never driven them.
