Not sure about what Audi's currently using; my friend's '01 A4Q 2.8 has "mono" xenons, but I bet they use bi-xenons now.. my folks just got an '03 BMW 330xi--it has bi-xenons. Difference is, the inner (halogen) lights are always "flash-to-pass" (pull the blinker stalk towards you)--to put the outside bi-xenons on "bright", you push the blinker stalk forwards, away from you. The inner halogens don't come on when the outer bi-xenons are on "bright".
On the SAAB, the inner halogens are "flash-to-pass" only if the bi-xenons are off. [You need to have the DRLs disabled and the headlight switch off..] And in the U.S. at least, when the bi-xenons are on "bright", the halogens will never come on... unless you've done some rewiring.
Hey Stephen G., have you tried out that wiring mod you discovered?
Jason
