Ian G- My intial post reflected my feelings of getting a car back two days late with basically no explanation of what repairs were done and that clearly had a shifting problem that was not present when I took it in. I picked up the car Friday just before the place closed so I had no way of talking to the service manager to straighten anything out when I got home. In fact, when I called Monday morning to tell them about the problem, they didn't have me bring it down immediately to check it out but told me to bring it in Wednesday. I posted my rant on Tuesday.
Should I have been so harsh on them and post my rant? Maybe not and I apologize for accusing them of screwing up my car. But it doesn't change the facts that the car was two days late, popping out of gear when I drove it home, that they didn't tell me to expect this to last a few days, or were not too concerned about a potential error on thier part when I called on Monday. In your opinion, was my experience a good one?
After talking to the service manager, I could tell that they were probably good at the servicing aspect but not so good at the communications aspect. Hence my follow-up post. I would think that a dealer who is trying to win the business of a first-time customer (as was apparent after talking to the service manager) would be extra careful about making sure thier first experience was a positive one.
