'00 MT Woes or lousy dealer? (Rant) Posted by IanC [Email] (#139) [Profile/Gallery] (more from IanC) on Tue, 29 Jul 2003 16:00:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm mad as hell and I'm need to vent!!
My "new" '00 Aero with a manual tranny developed an oil leak from the transmission a month after I bought it. I took it to Saab of Westport, the only dealer within twenty miles, to have it checked out and they fixed it under warranty (45k miles). This was the first visit to this dealer. Anyway, they initially said it would take two days to fix and it ended up being five. When I drove it home Friday, it kept popping out of gear when I downshifted into 3rd or 4th, something it never did before. So now I'm taking it back for a "simple" adjustment. Also, instead of washing the car like all the other (non-Saab) dealers I've dealt with, they give me a free car wash coupon for a local car wash, taking up more of my time.
The guy who sold me the car is an independent garage specializing in Saabs. He said that this was the second '00 Aero he's had in the recent past that's had a leaky transmission.
So I'm pretty pissed that my transmission's leaking, that the dealer took two extra days to fix it, that they screwed it up when they fixed the leak, that I have to spend more time taking it back to be fixed again, and that they couldn't even wash the frigging car after servicing it!
Am I over-reacting?
