I agree buying a car way below MSRP has some appeal to many consumers. However, does this apply to the consumers Saab is ostensibly selling too? I don't think so. Saab competes with Acura, Infiniti, BMW, Audi, Volvo. None of whom (except Volvo maybe?) have had incentives of $2-5,000 on every model for years on end. Acura sells about 65,000 TLs a year, at little or no discount beyond what people haggle. I believe that's more than Saab sells of all it's models in the US right? Doesn't seem that they've got a problem with "everyday low pricing".
I think for every person who wouldn't buy a Saab at a realistic MSRP because they didn't think they were getting a "deal", you'd have 3 potential customers considering Saab that wouldn't have in the first place.
