I got my Linear in 02 because odf the incentives. I felt like I was getting a great deal. On the other hand, if the MSRP was lower the cars would fair better in road tests and so get more recognition. The tests a few months ago compared a 9-3 with a G35 and a TL. Anyone reading the review would not be interested in testing the car. Back in 99 I bought a Passat because, for the money, it was the best car out there. What made me look at it was all the great press and comparisons with similar vehicles. I think overall more cars will sell if people feel it is the best car for the money- not because of huge incentives.
