I agree that the next 9-5 seems like it will not show up anytime soon. I looked at the RL, but did not drive it. I really liked the way it looked in photos, but it looked quite uninspired when I actually saw the car. Then I looked at the TL. Very interesting lines and technologically very up to date. One may say it is a fancy Accord, but they would be wrong. Honda did a terrific job with the TL, to the point that few will find the RL $15K better.
If Saab had the equivalent of the TL, I feel it would be an instant success, much like the TL has been. Toss in Saab's quality seats and their wonderful suspension tuning and there would be no way it could fail.
In today's car world, 9-13 model change overs will not work. I loved my 9-5 but did not want a new one since it has not changed enough for me since the 1998 introduction. Bottom line, I left Saab for a TL. I miss many of the innovation of the 9-5, but was looking for a more updated vehicle.
