Ok...I am still torn between the allroad and a 9-5 aero wagon. So I have a line on a 9-5 aero wagon 5spd loaded. Nice car. Overall the allroad and 9-5 are equal in my book between pros and cons. Price is better on the 9-5 of course.
My issue is lack of AWD - may sound dumb, but we now live out in the sticks in Northern NJ. I am also a ski hound and will often brave storms for decent snow in the Northeast. Below is a pic of my new driveway. Its 200 ft long and even more pitch than the photo reveals. Also has a very quick steep spot at the bottom as well. The other day we had 2.5 inches at the house and I barely, I mean barely, got the 04 Passat with traction control up the driveway (another reason it needs to go). They spun the whole way. I have driven in this stuff my whole life so I will eliminate user error...also the Suburban Z71 cranks right up this driveway.
I need some confidence building here...9-5 traction control good enough - what are some real life experiences similar to this driveway? I love the aero and the loyalty bonus this month. Help me out here as I am still leaning allroad after this weeks snow experience (and boy are we in for it this weekend!).
