compared to the 1/2 mile long, very steep and curvy, dirt two-track, my Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law live on. With snow tires on my 9-5 Sedan I have never had a problem getting to their house in Mid-Winter, and the West Michigan area get LOTS of snow every winter off Lake Michigan.

Even my wife who is a "Nervous Nelly" when it comes to driving in snow has not had a problem piloting our 9-5 up her Sister's drive in slippery winter conditions.

Good snow tires are the key, even with AWD.
