a family lunch after buying something in town. Hey, don't ask, she wanted to eat something before going home ok at the start of a snow storm 8-). It was snowing out, I with my older child in my 9K Aero (recently fitted with Pirelli Nero M+S tires) joined her and the younger child at the resturant.

My wife doesn't like to drive in snow, in fact she's afraid to drive in snow. So when we left the resturant, it's snowing harder but not real hard. The road was coated with a dusting to an inch+ snow. My wife was so afraid of driving, she asked me to take both kids in my car. I kept telling her that her 9-5 with winter tires and ESP is a much better car in this kind of weather.

Well, cars were crawling at 10 to 20MPH on local roads, as I posted before, the slowest vehicles were also SUVs, so much for 4WD vehicles. I was following my wife in the beginning. She was doing fine, in fact on uphill sections of certain roads, my tires are slipping but she had no problem pulling away from me. Mind you this is a woman who is afraid to drive in snow. I had the usual problem starting at a light going uphill, her car just plowed along fine.

So when we reached the road to our house, I had problem going uphill, but still managed to turn into our driveway. The 9-5 was slipping but not out of control, she was probably afraid to step on the gas to go uphill with tires slipping, ESP/TCS probably were on. She managed to go uphill and turned into the driveway on her own. I told her that if my car could go up the hill, her car shouldn't have any trouble.

While I was cleaning off the wheel wells on both cars before pulling into the garage, one neighbor tried to go up the road in a Nissan Altima, she made halfway and then got stuck, I told her to try backing up. It was definitely no go for her in the Nissan, so she gave up and drove back down the hill. Then another neighbor tried in a BMW 745i, I think we all know the answer to that 8-). A Jeep came by and up the hill it went, no trouble at all, then a Subie, then an Audi...

Ok, you all get the picture ?
