Often they're not to be mixed together. They both have different freon and such. Friend of mine is an owner of a company that fixes commercial air conditioners and Hvac systems, which he has been in this business for 30 years now. I trust him regarding refrigerant systems and he tells me that they should not be mixed because how they were made. But some do get lucky because their AC system had leaked completely, therefore, no flushing were needed.
