me that a good vac. is all that is needed. Once this guy realized that I was going to do all the work myself, including the changing the receiver/dryer and expansion valve, he leveled with me: A good vac. is all that's required. He discharged the system, I changed the receiver dryer (not the expansion valve), he put a vac. on it for a few hours, I drove home and followed the directions from the TrakAuto R134a kit, and BAM: cold auto air until the car was TERMINATED by a nitwit in a Honda over a year later.
