yes you should flush, but be real. If your going to replace the hoses,recv/dryer, and exp. valve whats left? There is a drain on the condenser, so pull it and see what comes out! Probably nothing. Drain the the compressor and refill with the appropriate amount of new oil. No big secret just labor. Now a good vacuum pull will get rid of any contaminates and remaining oil. I recommend the vacuum, usually an understanding shop will do it for a nominal charge, i.e. $45.
Adding the right amount of oil to each component is important. I don't know if you can add it in one spot and let it propigate.
Without a vacuum you are relying on the pressure in the can to get your system going. It works, I don't know which gets you colder air.
