The brushes on my '88 900S lasted about 160k miles or so. I didn't quite catch the significance of the very slight battery light glow until I was 150 miles from home in a massive rainstorm. By then, there was just enough left in the battery to get me into a gas station.

2 sets of mounts in 6 years! Wow.
