You can't simply splice wires and drive more speakers. This will throw resistance off and on a stock saab radio, and you simply don't have enough amps to power the extra things.
To have proper phasing and resistance, every speaker needs to be directly wired to the headunit. Therefore, a stock saab radio can only handle 4 speakers. You can put those 4 speakers wherever you want, but you can only have 4.
If you are looking to upgrade your stereo, don't mess around with the stock radio, it sucks!!!! Purchase a nice Alpine headunit and upgrade your speakers in the stock locations. For most, this will give them enough sound to keep them happy. For a real audiophile that wants to get more intense, fabricate custom enclosures for a tweeter/mid setup in the doors and add a subwoofer in the trunk. Email me if you want pics of my install or anything.
