Paralell is all + speaker terminals are tied together & all - terminals are connected together
Series is a daisy chain as you say. + from amp to + on 1 speaker. - from that speaker goes to + on other speaker. - goes to minus on amp.
If you have 2 4 ohm speakers & hook them together in series the amp would see a 8 ohm load. So if the radio/amp is rated at 50 watts at 4 ohms theoretically it would develop 25w at 8 ohm & each speaker would see half of that
If you go in parallel with the same 2 speakers that are 4 ohms to a 50w radio/amp. The amp/radio would see a 2 ohm load thus increasing the 50 watts to 100 watts where each speaker would see 50 watts
So depending on the radio you might be able to do series or parallel wiring. Some amps cannot take the lower ohm rating & will blow up sooner rather then later.
