...and you while having an excellent knowledge of Saabs are not seeing the big picture.

Bob wants to re-manufacture cars, not resell fixer uppers. He wants to make an upper echelon restoration. You are doing a fix and sell.

To make a upper level restoration you need to re-do EVERYTHING. That takes time and money. If you find a never been driven Nevada garaged car, it will still need ALL rust killed and painted, new rubber, new partial gut/interior, new grease, full detailing work, and it still will never be more than a 80 point car at a show unless you really spend money and time. (When selling a total restoration it needs to be at least a 94 point car.)And that is a never been driven minimal rust low mileage car. How many of those are out there and how many have realistic prices? From what I see now anyone with a rotted out SPG thinks it is worth $ when it is not.

Like I said, I made money doing this. It was more than a hobby. I am sorry we don't agree, but I speak from experience. You even state that you are speaking as a hobbyist. There is a HUGE difference.

That doesn't mean you don't know more than I do about Saabs. I admit you know more. It is that I know the car market in general from a different perspective.

Best, (and no hard feelings I hope ?),

Chaz
