Well, I was quite stupid. Being my first time working on this, I didn't realize that the bushing slides into the alternator a little ways, like a rubber sleeve. Now that I have that figured out, I was wondering, is there any easy way to get that bushing to go into the housing? Would it be okay to use a minute dab of dish soap to get it to slide in? Keep in mind, I am only trying to make the car drive-able so that I can get it to my mechanic. I can't get the bushing seated and was wondering if there were any tricks to it. This forum has been a life saver.
