That's so funny! I have a 56 Oval that after parking it in my old shop for twenty years, I can finally get working on it. Another person gave me a "Judson Supercharger" for it. It came with a newly rebuilt 36 hp engine that I started on the ground. Somebody gave me another parts engine and it still has the crank start nut with it. The problem with the old 6 volt system is that the starter wire ran from the battery, all the way to the in ignition switch, and then back to the starter. The fix was to run a Ford, 6 volt tractor solenoid at the transmission side bolt to hold it, then use a heavy gauge positive battery cable to the starter and work the solenoid switch with the ignition key. Never had a 6 volt cold start problem after this fix. I use to own a 62 VW work van with a bench seat up front with a partition blocking the back cargo area. This was the only VW van that I ever had heat that worked. You only had to heat the front cab area. Who remebers 6 vols cars? Dam we're getting old! Ha! Ha!
