On my 89 900T, my linkage bushing (part 20a)has nothing left but part of the white plastic. No rubber even! And sure enough, LOTS of left/right play with 5th near impossible to find.
YET, I have an older parts saab 900T I just pulled the shift shaft(shorter) out of with a perfect bushing still on the rod. NOW, should I cut off the shift-ball-insert-hoop end and re-weld after I put on the "new" bushing, or somehow withdraw the metal bulging "coupler" half way down the rod from itself...and how that is done likely has a trick! Or, just cut the rubber and carefully reassemble? Thanks,
Scott, in Alaska
I tried to post a link to a picture of this but got a couple warnings, so I may post a link in my next post so I can at least get this posted! Love the board. Been on it since the mid nineties, but only recently jumped back in again!
