Thanks for the info and help. The company listed no longer makes the tool. I ended up borrowng the tool from a local saab shop.
My quest was to install a new shifter bushing in the housing. 1) I turned the housing sideways facing the passenger side then took off the plastic plate. 2) I got the plastic piece on and then and rubber bushing over the shift ring (yikes!). 3) I put it back together 4) put the shifter back in, 4) screwed down the three main nuts. Did it work? But now when it's all back together it won't go into reverse!. I tried the trick of taking out the shifter itself and turning the key to off but still can't get into reverse.
Can someone walk me through this? Did I put the shaft/ring part back into the housing incorrectly? There must be a step by step way -- ''do this do that otherwise it won't work'' kind of explanation.
Thank you in advance.
Signed,
I want to drive my 8 valve again. ( after not driving it for three weeks).
