Better today. I didn't have time to do everything on the list... here is the list:

1. Check for vacuum leaks around the black canister in drivers side fender well.
2. Seal hard vacuum line that has been split off for a T-fitting by a PO (located between black canister and intake)
3. Replace white canister in passenger side fender well.
4. Clean out AMM, idle control valve, and throttle body.
5. Check Throttle position sensor connections and reposition if necessary.

What I did do was number 1 and 2. I sealed the crummy split job on the hard vacuum line by putting a section of rubber vacuum hose over it and the t-fitting to seal it. Idle is much better. It did not drop to stall during the trip to work and the idle at dead stop was rock solid most of the time. At one point, the check engine light did come on but went away when i started driving. Soon after that, the idle started see-sawing again at dead stop, but only that once. And once, I reved high to see if it would die and it almost did but not all the way. Still a bit of work to do, but a much needed improvement. I'll have another update tomorrow.
