RF, One thing about vacuum leaks is that you'll usually get an instantaneous correction when you fix one. One easy diagnostic approach when a vac leak is suspected is to go around to all the nipples on the intake and one-by one pinch the hose right at the nipple or remove the hose and then block the nipple with your finger. If the idle improves instantly it's then just a matter of following that hose away from the manifold until you find the leak. Don't overlook the brake vac booster hose and with the hard plastic line to the charcoal can you have to remove it and block the nipple because obviously you can't pinch it. Check any nipples on the throttle body too. Leaks at small ported nipples on the air cleaner side of the throttle plate will cause minor problems off idle that may not be evident while idling.
