Hi Mark, the reason the seat of the pants feel is better with your Garrett is because it has a .48 A/R where the Mitsubishi TE05 is only .41 A/R. What I do on my TE05-16G upgrades to make the A/R behave similar to the Garrett's .48 is do a mild clip on the turbine wheel. The reason the "Mitsu" feels like it's gasping for air is because of it's very small 12B compressor wheel plus a B style wheel even if it was the same size as the Garret wheel doesn't move as much air because it's just an equal blade design! I never understood just why MHI used such an inefficient wheel design on the Saab TE05? I've even upgraded the TE05-12B to a 19T TD04 family wheel that has the same exducer (major) diameter but a very good unequal blade design and it performs like it's almost a 16G!

Also check out the TE05-B16G with a .73 A/R! I did for Bryn Sladky! I married a TE05 bearing housing to a TD05H Super Series 10CM2 turbine housing!

The T3 Garrett is notably the most upgraded turbo in it's day with the vast number of available combinations available however there seems to be no end to all of the combinations I come up with on the TE05-12B! Brad's the one that found the TD05H-16G-10CM2 so I can't take credit for being the first one to transplant one into a Classic 900!
