Thanks for the detailed reply. I'll try to confirm with the seller if the inner bearings were replaced when the transmission was redone.
I'll do a bit more driving testing to look into the wheel bearing(s). Again, great advice, but as you mention it is likely that they make noise every 'few' rotations this seems quite likely.
So, maybe the cv is just a mess now with the sprayed grease, but the noise I have been tracking for a while is the wheel bearings.
