Convertible water leak

I've got a tough one here and maybe some of you have already gone through this......
My '90 convertible has a leak. Although I have not used the car in a couple of months, I used to get up to 1" puddles in the back left side of the car. I could use my shop-vac and get most of the water out, but I ended up removing the carpets, rubber-and-foam sound deaden mats and seats. For some reason, I don't get the water accumulating in the left rear anymore. Like I said, it's been sitting for 2 months now and the only water I can see entering the car is coming from the center console. There is a white plastic mat draped over the center hump underneath the console. The water is seen in the channel where the center hump meets the floor on the front left side. This leads me to believe that the water is entering from somewhere in the engine compartment. (Maybe the water entered from the front and gravity took over to have it pool in the back?)
I can't reassemble the interior until I find the cause but am stumped where to look. I have already taken the hose for minutes at a time with full force to the top, side windows, back window, top of the windshield and all the places where the top meets the body. The vent in the hood was not clogged with leaves either, but I would think that only the right front would get wet if it was the culprit.
The car and engine compartment are clean; there are no visible holes, no openings and no rot. Where do I look? I really don't know where to go at this point.
Thanks for any help and direction.
