When we transitioned to the engine bay, I had left over Aeroquip fuel line that we slid the cable into, so it has a fluids resistant and an additional layer of material for the heat affected zones. Being that it's only on the cold side of the engine, it should be OK, but always something to watch as time goes on.

Good catch on the welding cable sheathing -- seems like I should go talk with the battery shop and ask them about that. It doesn't seem prudent to go back and replace it all in areas that aren't hot or rich in fluid contamination. I could cut another piece of hose lengthwise and cradle it on the existing line, but with the insulated P clamps, I think we'll just watch it and see how it holds up for now.
