Never dealt with this and don't want to go out and actually look at my car, but if it's what's called a tension pin or roll pin, split up the side and made of spring steel, you can get them at some hardware stores but I can't tell you the size. I'm not really sure if there's a difference for metric but usually the ones I see come in inch-fraction sizes. The spring action might make them fits-all.

I've successfully gotten similar pins in or out using vise grips, clamped on so they squeeze the pin sides in and close up the gap. That also gives you a handle to guide them with. May help in this case, maybe not
