You would need to put it into the system that would be built into your car. There is no oil cooler resident to the C900 transaxle, so this filter would be placed before the pump, so that any swarf would be captured prior to passing through it.
There is some room over on the exhaust manifold side, but use caution on placement as if your line or pump or filter fails and starts spraying oil on the hot exhaust manifold, it will send the obvious smoke signal, but more than that is a fire hazard.
I've seen transmission oil coolers from automatic transmissions bolted on the opposite side of 5 speed cars -- your SPG won't have one as non were automatics in 1991 from what I know.
