Yeah - that 340 pump is like the 341 and 342 pump. The difference is the location of the fuel inlet on the pump relative to the outlet. The 340 is on one side, the 341 in the middle, and the 342 on the other side. They should all work in a c900 as that filter screen is as big as the pump body... the location of the inlet is immaterial.
Roger, with the Walbro you saw and Landjet the Walbro you did, how did you attach the 8mm pump outlet to the plastic hose? The plastic tube has an 8mm OD, so in theory you could just slip some 5/16" submersible rubber hose over the plastic and clamp in place. The alternative, I think, is get a pump assembly from a later car (9000 or 9-3/9-5) as they have 8mm *ID* plastic tube - you could use a barb->barb to mate rubber to plastic, or maybe reheat the plastic right over the pump outlet.
My goal for the 255lph pump isn't really about power... The 255lph pump is a standard in the world and readily accessible everywhere and will be for a long time. Since I am doing a major fuel system overhaul, I want to design in some long-term serviceability. An easy to find pump with an integrated check valve solves two problems!
