Reading this thread makes me remember why I never ever want to do this job again!
I have done it twice. At least it is much quicker the second time but just as dirty.
For anyone brave enough to do it my hints are that you might have to jack up the engine slightly if it has sagged on the mounts to get enough clearance to rotate the rack and get it out.
Finding just the right wrench to get the lines off makes it a lot easier too.
