The metal rod comes off of the wastegate goes to the bottom of the turbocharger. The wastegate has a vacuum line running down to it it's under the turbocharger. Leave it hooked up and loosen the nut just a little bit. Then disconnect the rod from the bottom of the turbocharger there's probably a c-clip holding it on careful when taking that off it'll fly away and you'll never see it again. Once you've broken it loose and disconnected it from the turbocharger turn it clockwise to tighten it and that will shorten the rod and raise the bass boost. Depending on which turbo charger you have determines which wastegate you have it could also be aftermarket or had gotten changed over the years usually two turns is 1 lb on the Garrett turbocharger and four turns is 1 lb on the Mitsubishi turbocharger.
