Re: What's with the 2.8 vs 3.0 FPRs? Posted by Saabina [Email] (#33) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabina) on Fri, 11 Feb 2022 19:50:26 In Reply to: What's with the 2.8 vs 3.0 FPRs?, Tusy, Fri, 11 Feb 2022 19:11:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
AFAIK, 3.0 is overkill for anything less than 30# Red injectors and an ECU mod. I’ve tried them with stock injectors and it did nothing for driveability and just burnt extra fuel and killed the mpg let alone emissions testing. They are for sure way more easy to find than 2.8’s. Saab engineers chose 2.8 for some reason on late model SPGs and CommEds when they were selling lots of NA 900’s with 3.0’s. That is why I use 2.8’s in all of our c900 turbos. I surmise there is a compliance issue with too much fuel pressure in low delivery injectors but really have no idea why. Right tool for the job? For sure someone on here will set me straight on this but 2.8s are working great for me and so why I recommend them.
