I have about exact same problem but the car was '93 lpt lucas system and from almost a month of checking & swapping known good parts in-out. Now the culprit comes to just either ignition switch or hall sensor in distributor. Bernie, can you please enlighten are there ways of how to identify if the problem is either one? Because local shop doesn't have parts I have to order new distributor or the ignition switch from ebay.

Thanks a lot. Been mostly in 9000 forum.
