Joe98, you made your point in a well thought out way. Trobinson9kt, please get your facts from creditable sources - Your statements are prepostorous.

Julia, one couldn't have said it better with
"What we have is an overindulgent, gluttonous, very spoiled country full of people who are never satisfied because they simply can never get enough. Bottom line? The fulfillment they seek will never be found outside themselves. It's a futile quest, and one which will continue to fuel our current rules of supply and demand in this country for as long as we raise spoiled, socially unconscious children. Time to start being responsible on a global scale."

By the way, I need two cars (one for my wife). Currently, we own a '98 Camry which is very monotonous but dependable and a '93 9KT which has also been very reliable and way more fun over the Camry. Ideally, I would have liked a newer Honda Civic with 5-spd manual over the Camry since it would be a very GREEN car for day to day driving (great mpg and ULEV status). I would consider the Hybrid Civic or Prius too but I am not yet convinced of their longterm reliability. Being GREEN also means using things to their fullest lifetime - which keeps our landfills from filling up and polluting. Just today, I was reading on the CNN website that Americans will discard MILLIONS of cellphones each year for new ones - These things supposedly have all kinds of polluting metals in them.

That brings me to another point. I have seen adds for SUVs claiming LEV status certified by the NHTSA; I do not think most consumers are aware that a ULEV truck (SUVs are classified as trucks) is MUCH more polluting than a ULEV car simply because there are different standards set by the govt for each class.

I apologize for the ranting and the long post. Happy saabing !
