When I got tired of a chronic oil weep on the F/R corner of the car. My mech took TC cover off and saw a small crack on the lower section close to one of the bolts. Luckily it's small enough he sent it to an aluminum welding shop to get it welded, then to another machining shop to have a machined/polished. Prolly will cost $200 but still way cheaper than a new TC cover at Cdn$750. Unfortunately that meant replacing my head gasket from all the TC cover removing. Nevertheless he "guarantees" this TC cover repair work is as good as I can get without getting a new cover.
Thoughts ?
