cyl head w/o removing the underside bolt; the t/c cover cracked but didn't leak for a couple of years. I warmed the car up, put it on the hoist of a friend/shop owner, cleaned the area with break cleaner, and applied a soft-setting gasket sealant. Hard to keep the oil from wicking through the crack - requires constant spraying - but eventually got it clean AND dry enuf, and it hasn't leaked in 1.5 yrs.
