That will be my thing to do then. I am not using the car (thank goodness for my '93 900TC, though that is having a starting problem right now, of course), so hopefully no damage has been done to the tranny from the little driving that I did when it first happened.
Now, the job itself. I remember reading something about having to heat up the bearing race with a hot-air gun to remove it to gain access to the governor itself. I don't have a hot-air gun. Will something else work? Do I really need to do that?
Where is the best place to get these seals? I might as well purchase all 3 just in case. Should I replace the ones that are not shot?
I just flushed and filled the ATF 3 weeks ago (doing it the recommended 3 times in a row method). Do I need to do this again, or can I just drain it and then refill without the process of doing it 2 more times?
Is there anything else I should do while I'm in there, or is it best to leave a tranny alone if not broken?
Not for anything, and I'm probably completely insane for asking this, but does this dilemma have anything to do, even remotely, with my CEL coming on with the P0130/P0133 (lazy/slow response Bank 1 O2 sensor)? Just kinda odd how that happened at the same time as my tranny going bersek.
Thanks, All, for your help!!!!!
Joe
