I've driven both. The Aero was definitely more of a thrill to drive. My worry about buying an Aero, though, is that the P.O. might have felt the same and proceeded to beat the poor beast to death. A transmission, however well built it may be, has a finite lifespan, and some chowderhead abusing it will only hasten its demise. I would love an Aero, but buying one at this stage in the game seems a crapshoot. Almost like buying an old 5.0 Mustang, anyone who would buy one is going to wring every bit of performance out of it and to heck with the consequences...or the next owner.
A regular 9000 turbo, though, may not have seen the same abuse. Maybe not.
When did the transmissions get more sturdy, both auto and manual?
