True, some Aeros have been driven hard and put away wet... Most people, however, who are looking for a cheap thrill have never heard of an Aero. My experience with Aero owners has been that they don't buy the car on accident, and they know what they have. While some people do drive the cars like they're meant to be driven, they also take good care of them... like the car you're considering.
I guess I kinda take offense at the notion that I abuse my car simply because it's fast. I take incredible care of it simply because its (a) nice (b) unique (c) rare (d) fast, and (e) because I want it to stay that way.
To the point. I wouldn't buy an '88 for $2700. It seems like a lot for what most might consider a project car... or a car that will require regular upkeep. I agree with fred. Buy 'em 'cause you know 'em and love 'em, but don't be naive about it.

'93 9000 Aero, 5spd, 97K. All records since new (I'm the second owner), and never abused. Driven hard occasionally, yes. Abused, no. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. (I paid $7400 5 years ago when it had 44K)
