I guess that's what separates the cars with service histories from those without. Surely, a used car is a gamble no matter what.
I once was waiting for a part at a Saab dealership and was looking at a nearly new 9-3 Viggen they had on the lot. The salesman told me he had just been asked to put gas in it, so he had driven it downt he street to fill it up. He then proceeded to tell me that he could spin the tires through third gear. (It was an Auto). Yeah, thanks for telling me that you just abused a car that was not even warmed up yet. If I was halfway serious about buying it, I'd have had a word with the manager... and looked elsewhere.
Have a good one, and keep the shiny side up.
