Yes! the rubber line gets swelled inside. The power of hydraulics will allow the fluid to travel into the slave, but won't return due to fluid pressure unable to return due to the internal swelled hose. The same can happen on brake slave cylinders. Some will think the brake caliper is sticking, when its just the rubber line going to the brake has swelled. You pumped the clutch slave cylinder so full that with each stroke you just kept adding more until the slave blew. No the slave cylinder sleeve is cocked and won't release the PP. There aren't any springs to pull anything back with calipers of clutch slave cylinders. A dead, leaking slave should still allow the car to engage, unless the slave cylinder sleeve is cocked because it was pushed out of it's casting too far.
