Blow into the top tube of the BPC valve.
It should be tight and you will not be able to blow into it.. IF.. it's healthy.
A failing, or at least not so good valve will allow you to blow 'some' into it.
The wee disc valve often wears out, itself or it seatings.
This being over and above the coil windings frying problems.
Saw somewhere some clever (cheap?) Nordic type sawed one in half, DIY'd a fresh Disc and reglued the thing back together for a succesfull repair.
Easier cheaper to go for the T7 Valve 'mod' though as it's more accurate as a bonus.
OEM the boost gauge shouldn't get into the red.
