My '97 CSE has a slow leak somewhere in the power steering. (Not bad enough to track down and fix, I just top it up a couple of times a year.) I topped it up a few months ago and forgot to put the cap back on the reservoir, then headed down the road. Needless to say I did not get far before power steering went out! I went back home and discovered what had happened. Filled the system up with fresh power steering fluid, put the cap on, and no problems since. Hopefully yours will turn out the same.
I'd been meaning to change the power steering fluid for some time but would not recommend this method!
