Thank you for calling out the master cylinder with the white nipple. Depending on what site I go to, I will see two versions of master cylinders by FTE. One is the official one in their online catalog with p.n.FTE KG170611. It has a black nipple going back to the reservoir and also has what appears to be a much stronger connection of the U bracket (that connects the pedal) where it connects to the piston shaft. On the FTE site, it says this one is made in Germany. The FTE version with the white nipple has p.n. 2100517 and looks functionally identical, save for the white nipple and what appears to be weaker connection to the piston shaft. The one with the white nipple might be $20-$30 cheaper, but as thetallguy points out, the job is not so fun that you would want to do it twice.
I have reached out to FTE to ask why two versions and perhaps its because they satisfy different price points. But seriously, who wants to save a few bucks on this job!
