I referred to them as "crappy" based on the head bolt photo ID guide that has been kicking around for a long time. I chased the threads in the block to get a clean surface and applied motor oil lightly to the threads. Did not install they dry. Didn't use never-seize. So far so good other than it idles like crap when cold and the tach jumps all over the place until it warms up. I'm going to try to replace the crank sensor and see if it helps.
