Both my 1995 and 1997 CSEs look like they have the same compressor but I have not checked the model numbers. The esaabparts.com site lists the same Sanden compressor 1994-1998 (of course no longer available):

https://www.esaabparts.com/parts.php?model=2&category=10

It's possible the 8052 supercedes and is a direct replacement for the 7943. Looking up pictures of both they look identical.

I installed a UAC CO8052C in my '97 (an aftermarket replacement for the Sanden 8052) nearly 10 years ago. It was an exact fit and has been fine all this time. Not sure about current availability though.

If your compressor is leaking at the shaft seal (the most common leakage point) it might be repairable.

Lastly, it may be possible to order a compressor from an overseas source but shipping on a heavy part like that could be prohibitive. (When I redid the AC on my '97 I ordered the hoses from Germany and it wasn't too bad.) For example, this vendor in Switzerland lists the 7943 compressor but it's not clear if they actually have any in stock:

Might be worth checking other overseas sources.

The main difference between the different SD7H15 models is the manifold for the hose connections, and the clutch pulley. So another possibility might be having hoses made up to fit another SD7H15 compressor that has the same mounting and clutch. (When you drive a decades old low-production import you sometimes have to get creative.)
