I'm doing everything I can to restore this 96 to original but I am hitting some cosmetic hurdles such as not being able to find exact upholstery vinyl, etc.
I am trying to do everything I can myself within reasonable limits. I had my local machine shop go through the heads and install hardened seats. I also had them bore and hone the cylinders but I built the engine back. I am having the transmission rebuilt. A local upholstery shop will do the seats. I had a company in Michigan make all new fuel and brake lines. The cleaning, sanding, rust removal, cutting out of rust, welding in repair panels (I will have to learn to weld), priming, brake rebuild, suspension rebuild, etc. I am doing myself. I have had this car over a year and it will probably take at least 2 more to finish. I am moving much slower with the body work because it is the least fun of all the mechanical rebuilds. I will have pictures sometime soon. I also work more than full time and can't always drag myself out to the garage in the evenings and a lot of weekends I don't get to (or feel like) spend time on the project.
