Brian..it sounds you are doing a hell of a job! As for the welding, I bought A Miller welder for about 500.00. It is a mig welder which uses gas to sheild the weld puddle from contaminents it the atmosphere. It was a beautiful investment as a welder is always needed with a classic car.
when you purchase your welder...just keep practicing until you create beuatiful strong neat welds.
As for the bodywork, I urge you to take your time as this is where the true beauty lies. To do all of that work only to see ill fitted panels and pits of rust resurfacing is sheerly disheartning. What produsts are using foor the rust battle? What about inderneath the chasis? How will you treat that typical rust area? What tool are you using to cut out rust?
